Senior lecturer in Business Administration, specialising in Financial Accounting and Control

Department of Economics

The Department of Economics hosts research and teaching within the subjects business administration and economics. A unique feature of the Department is that great emphasis is placed on applied science, often in collaboration with natural science subjects at the university. High priority areas are: 1) economic conditions for land-based industries, 2) organisations and methods of working within the food industry, 3) agricultural policy, international trade and processing of agricultural products, 4) natural resource and environmental economics and 5) conditions for small businesses. The Department provides undergraduate degree courses mainly in agricultural economics and economics specialising in natural resource management, and runs a postgraduate programme. It also offers occasional courses for students in biology, engineering and economics and various Master’s programmes.

Subject area

The subject area comprises business economics, specialising in financial accounting and control.

Duties

The holder of the position is expected to:

  • develop and lead teaching on financial accounting and control at basic and advanced level
  • contribute to the development of the postgraduate research area of business administration, and supervise postgraduate students within the subject area of the position
  • develop and lead successful research within the subject area of the position
  • develop and maintain national and international networks of researchers, industry, commercial sectors and society at large
  • disseminate research results
  • actively seek research funding
  • conduct teaching in Swedish and English

Qualifications

The applicant shall:

  • hold a doctorate or equivalent scientific qualification
  • have scientific expertise within the subject area of the post
  • have good language skills in English and Swedish
  • have good teaching skills, and will have completed university lecturer training corresponding to 10 weeks of full-time study (or acquired equivalent skills by other means)

Assessment criteria

Assessment for the appointment will be based on the degree to which a candidate possesses the skills required to qualify for appointment.

Regarding academic skills, the following will be taken into account:

  • previous research and current research
  • ability to independently initiate and conduct innovative research
  • experience in applying for and obtaining external research funding

Regarding teaching proficiency, the following will be taken into account:

  • experience of planning, provision and evaluation of university courses
  • experience of supervision and examination at postgraduate level
  • ability to integrate research and a scientific approach in teaching work

In addition, the following skills will be taken into account:

  • communicating and collaborating
  • working in partnership with society
  • informing about research and development work

Equal attention will be paid to the assessment of teaching proficiency and the assessment of academic skills.
