KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm has grown to become one of Europe’s leading technical and engineering universities, as well as a key centre of intellectual talent and innovation. We are Sweden’s largest technical research and learning institution and home to students, researchers and faculty from around the world. Our research and education covers a wide area including natural sciences and all branches of engineering, as well as in architecture, industrial management, urban planning, history and philosophy.
Do you want to build a world-leading research environment?
KTH is now developing a brand new research and education department in the subject area of Sustainable production. During 2016 and 2017 we are recruiting new faculty members: among others three Professors, four Associate Professors and one Assistant Professor in the areas of Production management, Production logistics and Strategic maintenance and dependability. In addition, there are resources to recruit Ph.D. students, industrial Ph.D. students, Adjunct Professors and Postdocs. For the new department, a new, attractive and functional campus is being built in the Northern city centre of Södertälje, 30 km south of Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. The focused effort on Sustainable production at KTH is a joint initiative with Scania and AstraZeneca, both with large, expanding and globally competitive production sites in close vicinity of the new campus area.
Sustainable Production Systems
The subject field Sustainable Production Systems is based on a systems perspective and the approach towards development and operations of sustainable and productive industrial production systems. The subject field comprises e.g. the integration towards product development, industrialization, production strategies, efficient flows, and production management.
The position includes teaching and research. As a teacher you are part of a teacher’s team and/or have own responsibility of specific courses which means teaching, development, examination, evaluation and responsibility for aligning the goal of the course with the overall program goal. The department of Sustainable Production Development, HPU, works closely together with AstraZeneca and Scania when it comes to design and execution of programs and courses which makes industrial co-operation an important part of the position.
The research task requires the applicant to independently establish new research constellations and projects, to apply for and receive research funding, to manage, perform and publish research of high quality, and to supervise PhD students. Internal co-operation with e.g. the departments of Industrial Production and Industrial Economics at KTH is a part of the job as well as co-operation with industry and society. HPU priorities research that combines scientific excellence with industrial impact and usage, and close co-operation with industry in identifying and working on industry relevant research questions is hence of great importance.
