The Division of Physiotherapy conducts research, research education and education at basic and advanced levels within physiotherapy. Approximately 40 teachers/researchers and administrators are employed and some 20 doctoral students registered. The division is in an expansive phase regarding education as well as research and collaboration with clinical care.
We are looking for a person who is deeply dedicated and willing to lead, develop and coordinate research in physiotherapy, research-based physiotherapy education at basic, advanced and doctoral education levels, and collaboration with clinical physiotherapy. We expect the candidate to perform high-quality physiotherapy research, teach at all levels and have clinical experience. Over time the duties will be adjusted to the candidate’s competence and interest but also to the needs of the division.
Formal combination of academic and clinical work in Stockholm County Council may be considered.
All professors at Karolinska Institutet must demonstrate scientific as well as pedagogical competence. The eligibility requirements for appointment as a professor at KI are specified in the "Appointment procedure for teachers at Karolinska Institutet"
Formal professional education as a physiotherapist or registered physiotherapist, broad experience of research and education within the area are required. The applicant shall thus be an active researcher, performing high quality research, have formal pedagogical training and experience of pedagogical developmental work and teaching, have experience of clinical work and clinical developmental work and possess formal leadership training qualifications and experience as an academic leader.
We seek a person who possesses a solid research position in the field of Physiotherapy with a strong list of publications in international scientific journals. Documented experience from collaborations is required for the position. International collaborations and academic leadership experience are of merit. The capability to contribute to the division’s development in research and research education is also necessary.
Higher teaching education (minimum 5 weeks) or equivalent knowledge and pedagogic skill is required and the applicant should also have extensive experience in teaching and project supervision at basic, advanced, and research education levels in Physiotherapy. Pedagogical and clinical developmental work is of merit.

The assessment will weight qualifications as follows: research expertise (3), educational expertise (2), leadership, development and collaboration expertise (2), clinical experience (1).
